The most important goals of establishing Doha Securities Market (currently Qatar Exchange):


Providing opportunities for investment in financial securities in order to serve the national economy.

Protecting investors by carrying out purchase and sale transactions of securities in the market in an atmosphere of fairness and publishing information about all listed companies.

Developing the Capital Market structure in a manner that serves the economic development activities and facilitates the achievement of the objectives of the economic policy of the State.

Developing ways about investor’s awareness and information dissemination practices.

Listing of new securities in the Market, facilitating and expediting liquidity of the funds invested in securities, ensuring interaction of the supply and demand factors.

Collecting and classifying information and statistics on traded securities and publishing them in various reports.
History
The Doha Securities Market (DSM) was established in accordance with Decree Law (14) for the year 1995 and commenced operations in May 26, 1997
