General Description
Today Chemetall Group is the leading manufacturer of lithium compounds in the world. Using lithium carbonate which is obtained from salt lakes in the Chilean Andes and in the USA as raw material, Chemetall and its subsidiary Chemetall Foote Corp. produce a wide range of products including special inorganic salts and organometallic compounds.
History
The Technical Department of Metallgesellschaft which led ultimately to Chemetall of today was the first industrial supplier of lithium carbonate, lithium chloride and lithium metal in the world in 1923.
