General Description
The discovery of oil in the UAE (and other Gulf States) triggered rapid massive development that a large influx of foreign labor to the region characterized. This infusion has fundamentally altered preexisting societal norms. Moreover, in the case of the UAE, the switch in governance to the UAE Federation further transformed social structures.
