The curricula of this program includes 27 credit hours of the University General Requirements. It does not include a course of English for Specific Purposes (ESP). The remaining 3 credit hours are added to the hours of the specialization requirements to make them 81 credit hours.
The Program Objective is to:
Provide students with basic information about Islam as a faith and a system of life highlighting those intellectual, jurisprudentially, and behavioral aspects which are distinctively Islamic.
Stress the unity, originality, and universality of Islamic culture so as to enable students to contribute to the renaissance of Islamic societies everywhere on sound principles.
Develop student′s ability to think independently when facing new situations and to prove cogently the superiority of Islam to all other creeds and its applicability in all times and climes.
Prepare students spiritually, intellectually, and linguistically to disseminate the message and culture of Islam when they graduate and work as teachers or employees of the Ministry of Waqf and Islamic Affairs or in any other field.
Graduate a well-educated group of researchers in Islamic Studies who can participate in editing and publishing works on Islam.
