The objective of this department is to provide the country with graduates prepared for careers in agribusiness as part of the world’s food systems. The food systems encompass all the direct functions such as inputs to producers, production, processing, distribution, and marketing. Course requirements in this specialization are placed on the support function such as finance, domestic policy, consumer science, and international policy. Students trained in these departments are to assume leading roles of public and private commerce of agricultural and food products. These organizations contribute greatly toward the economic well being of the country. The department offers an undergraduates program leading to the degrees of bachelor of science in agribusiness and bachelor of science in consumer science. The undergraduate programs are designed to provide the basic knowledge and tools necessary to secure professional positions in agriculture, agribusiness and consumer science. The various curricula or options are structured to lead to different professional careers.In the department of agribusiness and consumer science there are 2 staff members (1 full professor and 1 associate professor) and a secretary located in the building of the college of food systems (Jemi Campus).We are committed to developing and extending greatly teaching, research, and university and community services.
