The Department of Economics is a non degree-granting department and its mission is to provide service courses to other departments in the College. It aims at offering students the theoretical base in economics needed by other related fields. The objectives of the department of Economics are:
To provide academic courses that are required by other departments of the College and the University in order to help students understand the role and importance of economics in their fields of specialization.
To conduct research in the general area of economics for the advancement of the field and to contribute towards improvement of managerial practices.
To serve the community by offering opportunities for learning economics to improve their professions and lives.
To provide consultancy to private and public sector organizations.
