History
This port was inaugurated on 1st February 1979.
It is distinguished by having large docks with capacity to accmmodate ships of different sizes for repair as per equirement. It is considered as one of the biggest docks in the Middle East. Seamen working on board of ships docking in this port are allowed to enter the country as per the applicable rules and regulations, as they are granted landing. permits for one-week renewable upon request.
