General Description
Dubai Development Board is a government owned institution, whose main duty is to fulfill the social responsibility of contributing to the community’s well being by promoting and providing healthy living and working conditions. This unique organization concentrate its efforts and resources towards managing and maintaining the infrastructure of local landlords, in order to supplement the growing demand for middle income citizens for commercial as well as residential properties in Dubai.

Its objectives lie in:
Establishing strategic alliances to accelerate the pace of growth and to the benefit of middle-income nationals.
Providing suitable leasing units for middle-income residents in Dubai.
Fostering a quality living environment.
Promoting reasonable unites to the benefits of the local landlord, the Board and the tenant.
Utilizing the latest technology to deliver cost effective and efficient services.
Developing, empowering and motivating employees for superior performance.
Committing to professional ethics and teamwork at all levels.

The Boards’ main duty is to contribute in financing the outgrowth of lands owned by locals and build commercial constructions for the prospect of securing stable income to the local owners, and provide low cost units for residents living in Dubai.

The board executes this goal by unbarring interest loans paid over a long period of time through deducting the principle that was paid by the Board from revenues generated out of leasing the building. Besides leasing the board takes the hassle of the maintenance such properties, facilitate as well as offer all the services required.
History
The Dubai Development Board (DDB) was created in 1975 by a decree issued by His Highness Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Al Maktoum to establish housing projects. The first initiative of its kind in the UAE, it granted national citizens of Dubai special interest-free loans to invest in land and to build safe, decent, sanitary and affordable rental units, specially designed for middle and low income families.

The Board performs a number of activities in fulfillment of its mission, from the administration of lease operations and maintenance of rental units to conducting socio-economic studies, covering availability of units, levels and trends in the local market.

The DDB is dedicated to providing the residents of Dubai with responsive, fair and efficient services through the diversity of its programs and the commitment of its employees.
