Consumer Materials Laboratory Section′s job is to:
- Undertake effective laboratory analysis and testing to ascertain the quality of gems and precious metals that are manufactured or imported into Dubai Emirate, and provide an assay and hallmarking service;
- Undertake laboratory testing of electrical household equipment and appliances that are marketed or manufactured in Dubai Emirate to ensure their safety;
- Conduct the necessary tests for certification and accreditation for quality schemes in co-ordination with the Quality Management Section.
