General Description
The function of Dubai International Arbitration Center is to conduct conciliations & arbitrations & ensure the application of the Rules of Conciliation & Arbitration of DCCI and it has all the necessary powers for that purpose. As an autonomous body, it carries out these functions through its Board Of Trustees, in complete independence from DCCI. In its work it is assisted by its Secretariat. .
Supervision over the conciliation and arbitration proceedings.

Providing advice and consultation regarding conciliation and arbitration on professional basis.

Providing facilities to the parties to a dispute by preparing lists of qualified arbitrators and experts.

Providing facilities to Arbitral panels by furnishing meeting rooms, means of telecommunication, secretarial and translation services.

Enlightening and educating traders and the public at large about the advantages of arbitration by organizing seminars and lectures and issuing bulletins on arbitration.

To make available to the interested persons all publications, written materials and books on arbitration

Constitutional Framework
Dubai International Arbitration Center was established as the Center for Commercial Conciliation & Arbitration of Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry in pursuance of the resolution of the Board of Directors, issued on 12.12.1994 under the Law No. (2) of 1975 of DCCI and its subsequent amendments. On 16/7/2002 H.H. The Ruler of Dubai issued a decree that changed the name of the Center for Commercial Conciliation & Arbitration to Dubai International Arbitration Center and authorized DCCI to enact any rules or regulations which may be required for the change.
