It was established by Mohamed Ali Pasha in 1812 as a navigation shipyard in Boulak. Many modifications have occurred until it was moved to its distinguished present site , on the west bank of the nile, at Embaba, 7 kms north of Cairo. The company′s activities are diversified, but are distinguished by the following fields: (1) Production and overhauling of inland and marine units , and all kinds of pontoons. (2) Production and overhauling of irrigation gates, steel, bridges, and river locks (3) Erection of irrigation and drainage pumping stations on turnkey bases. (4) Execution of industrial construction enterprises. (5) Production of spare parts and all steel fabrication products. (6) Dredging projects. In addition the company constructs several major projects on a national scale, it is the first company to produce automatic radial irrigation gates. It is constructed numerous irrigation pumping stations all over the Republic. It constructed and erected the El Salam Canal culvert below the Bahr El Baguar Drain, which is the largest steel culvert in the world. The company seeks assistance in the possibility of exporting luxurious fluvial units, radial gates for irrigation water level balancing , steel fabrication products for sanitary drainage products, in addition to reflecting vehicle license plates.
