Tindouf, also written Tinduf, (Arabic: ′′تندوف) is wilaya in the west of Algeria, population 30,000 (not including approximately 160,000 Sahrawi refugees). Its capital town is Tindouf. It houses army and airforce bases for the Algerian military, and is strategically important due to its proximity to the Moroccan border.
