Bank of Jordan is a limited liability shareholding company which is fully owned by private sector. The outreach of the Bank′s network is ensured by 80 branches and offices, and 69 ATM locations, in addition to numerous services provided through electronic means, including IVR, Internet Banking, Mobile Bank and SMS.
The number of the Bank′s staff has grown up to 1487 employees by the end of the year 2005, most of them are well-trained energetic young employees with high caliber. The highly qualified staff is considered the pillar of the Bank′s success and outstanding posture.
BOJ is maintaining its process of modernization and development in the context of its strive to excellence and leadership through a group of projects. These projects include the final stages of adopting the Bank′s new identity, developing the Assets and Liabilities Department, Customers and Market management, in addition to the projects of the IT strategy. These development projects aim at achieving BOJ goals in the area of performance assessment, sustainability, communications and information technology management. Among implemented projects of this type are the services of multiple electronic channels.
Established in 1960 with a paid up capital of JD130 ,000 it Started working by opening Amman Branch, followed by seven branches in: Jerusalem, Jericho, Karak, Jenin, Irbid & Ma’an. Nowadays, the capital of the Bank amounted to JD 86 Million, the volume of its financial position for the year 2005 amounted to JD 1,2 Billion, and the shareholders’ equity amounted to JD 117,9 million.
