General Description
The aims of the association are defined as follows:
1/Upgrading the level of the profession ,its protection , defence and organization.
2/Cooperating with the Ministry of Health and all the institutions and agencies related tothe profession , with a view to raising its standard and the proficiencyof its employees and offering the best services to patients.
3/ Bringing together the nurses and midwives and safeguarding their rights and dignity.
4/Observing the profession′s rules of decorum and code of ethics.
5/Insuring a decent life for nurses and midwives and their families, whether working or in case they are unable or too old to work.
History
The Council was established in 1972
Constitutional Framework
The Council was established in 1972, by virtue of the Nurse & Midwives Council Law N° 18 for the year 1972 and amendments thereof. In its relations with the executive power the council is attached to the Ministry of Health
